About the Countdown Timer
This tool builds a live countdown to any future date and time, ticking down second by second on the page. You give it a title, pick a theme, choose how much detail to display, and it produces a countdown card that keeps running as long as the page stays open.
Ten themes cover the occasions people usually count down to: birthdays, weddings, new year, Christmas, vacations, parties, a baby’s due date, Halloween, and game launches, plus a generic option for everything else. Each theme sets its own icon and accent color, so the countdown looks like the thing it is counting toward rather than a generic digit display.
The title runs through five font styles with a live preview beside the input, so you can see how a wedding date reads in cursive against how a product launch reads in slab serif before committing. An optional location line sits under the title for events where the venue matters.
Display format is worth thinking about rather than leaving on the default. Seconds ticking are compelling for something happening today and faintly absurd for something eighteen months away, where the seconds column just flickers. Weeks and days suits long horizons like a due date or a wedding; days, hours, minutes and seconds suits anything within a few weeks.
One thing to know: the countdown runs while the page is open and is not saved anywhere. Refreshing or navigating away means setting it up again, and there is no link to share the countdown with someone else. It is a live display rather than a persistent page you can send around.

How to Use the Countdown Timer
- Pick a theme from the grid. This sets the icon and accent color on the finished countdown.
- Enter a Countdown Title up to 100 characters. The preview panel updates as you type.
- Choose a Font Style: Serif, Sans Serif, Cursive, Handwriting, or Slab Serif. Watch the preview to see how your title actually reads in each.
- Click the Target Date & Time field and use the calendar to pick a date, then set the time in 24-hour format. Past dates cannot be selected.
- Optionally add a Location, which appears beneath the title on the countdown card.
- Choose a Display Format: weeks through seconds for long horizons, days through seconds for the common case, or just days for a clean single number.
- Leave Stop countdown at zero ticked so the timer shows a completion message when it reaches the target. Unticking it holds the display at zero instead.
- Click Create Countdown. The live timer appears below and begins ticking immediately.

Result: a gold-accented card with a ring icon, the couple’s names in cursive, the venue beneath, and a live count in weeks and days
For a date more than a year out, the weeks format is the readable choice. “94 weeks and 3 days” communicates the distance far better than “661 days,” which is technically the same information in a form nobody intuitively parses.
For a product launch happening this afternoon, switch to Days / Hours / Min / Sec and the seconds column becomes the point rather than a distraction. This is the format that creates the sense of imminence you actually want on launch day.
For a baby due date, Just Days often reads best. Due dates are estimates rather than appointments, so counting down to the minute implies a precision that does not exist.
